What’s happening with the Mingle Forum Plugin?

SEO Friendly URLs coming to the Mingle Forum WordPress PluginFANTASTIC THINGS are happening with the Mingle Forum WordPress Plugin. I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to it lately but I am very happy to announce that SEO Friendly URLs are well on their way. In-fact you can check them out on the forum here right now. This new feature will help astronomically in SEO rankings and search-ability for your site’s forum content.

When will the next release be available? Right now I’m waiting to hear back from a few beta testers to see how smoothly the SEO Friendly URLs run. We’re probably looking at about another week before it will be available to the public.

It has taken so much time & trial/error to implement this feature that I would just like to remind everyone (without sounding too desperate or needy :D ) that donations are always welcome. Thanks!

EDIT: Nov 27 2010 — Just pushed out the release (Mingle Forum 1.0.23) containing SEO Friendly URLs, Dynamic Forum Sitemap, and a handful of bug fixes.

  1. I can’t wait for this modification, few days back Google Indexed my website but just left the forum content and now this modification, Cartpauj, I imagine what would I have done without Your Forum and Mingle (and never forgetting your mind in integrating them)….

  2. Geez, everything went so well but I simply can’t get the forum to display on the page. Shortcode is right, Category and forum setup are fine, install went as promised but nothing shows up. thought it may conflict with another plugin, deactivated them, no luck…anything that I am possible overlooking?

    shortcode [mingleforum] (lowercase)

    Thanks Don

    • It could be an issue with your theme. I know this issue happens with Thesis and the only fix I’ve found from my end is to add a space just before and after the shortcode.

  3. Thanks for the answer, I tried the suggestion but no success, I use the weaver theme so I dont believe thats the issue, only thing I can think of is perhaps an issue with facebook connect? Has this ever shown up as an issue?

    • Most likely. Lot’s of users have had issues with that plugin and the forum. I know WPweaver theme works well with the forum so you’re right, that’s not the issue.

  4. I took it all out (plugins) and now when I look at the forum page all that I see is the short code on the page? It’s printed as text and not working as the shortcode

  5. Thought this may help—Prior installation I installed mingle first then made the page. I started with a new page (deleting the other) with Mingle inactive. After I made the page I reactivated mingle- Success! Thanks for the help! I’ll reinstall my plugins and if I can discover what the issue is I will post it here

  6. Plugin SFC has multiple components the Like and the Share button interfered with the mingle forum (I believe because both were posting into the page that mingle wanted to be in) the other components of that plugin work fine. Those were the issues

  7. Seems like everything works well with one exception- when a new user to the forum tried to register the worpress login page shows up with a “wrong password” error- like the forum is trying to access wordpress users- I don;t think I need this and it’s creating at least two steps to the login process- did I configure something incorrectly?

  8. If I downloaded the Mingle and Mingle Forum and then it is upgraded or you create a better verision… how do I upgrade it without losing what I have on my site? Do I need to start all over again in building the community network?

I am creating a new website for my pediatric cancer foundation and very new at wordpress! Thanks.

  9. when will we able to upload pictures to the mingle forum? I’ve only been using it for a month. Seems ppl have been asking for it for many months. This is big flaw in what seemed to be a perfect plugin for wordpress

  10. This plugin is awesome. Easy easy to use. I’ve just started using it at my bedtimechat.com website. Thanks for the great forum plugin.
