Mingle Forum WordPress Plugin Released!

I know it’s been a long time coming for all you patient fans out there, but I’m very happy to announce that my revision of WP Forum is now complete and ready for take-off as a new re-branded (and much better!) WordPress Plugin titled Mingle Forum.
Mingle Forum 1.0 was just put on the WordPress Plugin repository today and I expect it will be a very nice addition to WordPress along with my Private Messaging plugin. Please check-out all the details on the Mingle Forum Plugin Page.
Thanks to Eric Hamby for his previous work on the plugin and also thanks to Gene53, Jschires, RobertD62, Supercleanse and others who helped me test and fix bugs. ENJOY :)

This is a truly great forum plugin! Excellent work. And your support is incredible.

    Best Wishes!

Thanks Deb! The forum is still young but surely we’re hoping to only make it better from here on out!

After the ball-breakingly hard process of trying to integrate BBpress with Buddypress AND wishlist member….this looks very promising. When I last looked at Mingle, the lack of a forum integration made it a deal breaker
……..so congrats on picking of that mantle!

Re: the future….Is there a road map written anyware? I’m need a little confidence this is a long term thing in step with WP developments before rolling it out on a commercial site. Is there a forum platform it’s based on?
    Thanks for any reply

I haven’t laid out an official road-map but I plan to continue development on this forum as long as life will allow me to :) . I’ve been in pretty close contact with the Mingle author (Blair Williams) and we’ve discussed some closer integration possibilities between these two plugins as well. I think between Mingle and Mingle forum a wordpress site owner can have a full S/N site in minutes! It’s amazing really….

Thank you for such a great plugin! It took me 5 minutes to set up and another 5 to organize. Very sweet! I only have one suggestion. That is to add a “Thanks” button. I think it would be extra useful for small, simple forums like mine. :)

    • cartpauj says:

Could you explain what you mean by “thanks button”?

    • Annisa says:

Under each post, there’s a “Thanks” button. After users click, their username shows up in a list right under the post in a small box saying something like “The following [number of users who clicked] users thanked [username of poster].” I think VBulletin has this feature. And it’s very useful for forums where users are sharing information, so there aren’t hundreds of “Thank you” posts in the thread.

  5. Ricardo Cristof Remmert-Fontes says:

I would like to second the suggestion of a “thank you” button.
