The Mingle Forum plugin has no support for moving posts and forums, so how do i hardcode it. Which CSS etc contains the list for all post and forums and can i cut and paste them to new forums and boards respectively?

Cheers

Crucias

Ok i feel semi stupid. I found the move topic option, it was outside a topic.

The question about moving boards applies

<EDIT>

Off topic slightly, Cartpauj, when i delete multiple topics and boards, they delete, but instead of saying deleted it displays the following error message

"Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /home/<EDIT: CPanel Login Name>/public_html/home/wp-content/plugins/mingle-forum/fs-admin/fs-admin.php on line 638"

Thought you may like to know that

I'm not sure what you mean by "move boards"?

And I will try and look into that error you're getting and see what I can dig up.

Oh, and you can move a topic from within the topic but the link is in the top menu not the little tabs on the top and bottom of the thread.

I'll explain more clearly.

I hypothetically have the following setup (catagory, forum, post)

Food
-> Vegetables
->>Carrots
->Meat
->>Beef
->> Potatoes
->Football
Sports
->Rugby

So from the above situation i have the catagories (or upper most hierarchical directory) "Food" and "Sports"

Inside these catagories i have forums (indicated by ->) and inside these forums i have posts (indicated by ->>).

Now, potatoes is obviously a post in the wrong section, so i move it to Vegetables. However the forum "Football" is a sport not food. it's in the wrong catagory. I want to move it and all its children (posts) to the correct catagory (ie Sports).

How can i move a whole forum and its posts inside it to the correct catagory? The plugin doesn't support this from what i can see. So how could i hack it to move things inside code files and not the GUI.

Hmm I see what you mean now. This wouldn't be a bad feature to implement down the road either. For now you need to head into your phpMyAdmin find that "forum" and change it's "parent_id" value to the "id" of the category you want it in.

Can anyone post some phpMyAdmin instructions for moving stuff around?

For example I have:

Topic
=>Reply

I want to move the reply to its own topic. How would I do that?

Thanks for the help. I did it in a round about way. I wasn't able to make a reply into a new thread that didn't yet exist. I created a thread in the forum, then moved the reply to it using your instructions, then deleted my original post, then changed the thread starter. It was a lot of steps but appears to have worked.
