My friend Bruce over at http://wpweaver.info - has been working with me to get some hooks in place allowing him to create a Plugin integrates with Mingle Forum. This plugin allows much better control over guest posting and guest accounts in the Forum. What I'd like to do is let the guests view only the first post in a thread, but let subscribers see the entire thread. Is this possible now or will this be possible with the new plugin?

I just tryed the guest thing.

I dont know if I do it correct but as I can see you need to choose between having users signing up to write or have the guest thing. You cant have both, is that correct?

I want a forum where you can sign up if thats what you want or you can just write as a guest.
Is that possible?

I've been trying this plugin and the major issue I have with it is that the guest poster can easily spoof the identity of any other user. There is nothing to stop you from using an already existing username (such as the moderator's), nor is there any tracking that associates a given username to an IP or E-mail address. I would love to use this plugin, but, in its current form, I see too much potential for abuse.

I also had the same issue as Anders, though I was able to insert my own login/register links as a workaround. It would be much more user friendly, though, if the plugin did this by itself.
