Normal topicBuddypress Profile?

Hi there,

Really nice to see a simple and an awesome forum. Thanks a lot for that.

I just have one request. I want the all the profiles and members links to direct to Buddypress profiles.
Is that possible?

Thanks again!

Glad you like it. Sorry to say but I have no intentions of integrating the forum with BuddyPress. Honestly I've used it only once, couldn't stand it :) so haven't used it since. If a third party programmer wanted to submit a patch or diff for me to include this feature that would be fine though.

Thanks for your reply. I dont like Buddypress either. But ended up installing it and people have made their profiles as well. So I dont really want to disturb those profiles by replacing with something else.

There's no integration required as such. I just saw you have a define.php file.
All it needs to be done is replace the URL of the profile.
I dont know what the link to the profile is at the moment. I shall get it checked and let you know. I am a n00b, so I will need help in replacing the link :)

I have the same question about this, Subrahmani. Did you ever find out how to redirect users to the buddypress profiles? I am working on a project right now that requires this. I have found that because Cartpauj's Mingle forum is so lightweight, it actually can be integrated into buddypress VERY easily.

But any luck, Sub???

Nope. Not at all. I didnt bother to do it actually. I removed social networking completely off my website since I dont really require it.

You might have to just change the link in the define.php file of mingle forum.

No probs. I tried looking for the link the profiles as well. Which is what made me lose hope and give up.
At the moment I am at work and cant access Buddypress website. But I think there's a topic called "Buddypress Profile Link" on their forum where they are talking about the links. I think they still havent been able to figure it out.

There's actually an entire function dedicated to getting the profile link as there are currently 3 possibilities. So adding buddypress would just complicate things even more. Unfortunately it's not just as simple as changing one link...it is possible though.

I agree. Buddypress is crap, but is there a way to link the 'author link' to 'mingle profile' - I'm using ARRAS theme and it goes straight to the Author Template = where as I'd prefer it to go to the Mingle User Profile!

Buddypress also has 'posts to profile' plugin - which I think Mingle should have! - as for my site I get users to write posts..and of course I want them to be credited.

Hello

I reckon this can be done, so much so I'm going to have a go myself tonight.

The buddypress function + code for linking to a user profile is:

<a href="' . bp_core_get_user_domain($user_id) . '"></a>

I'm sure it will be in the code, just find where the profile link is, and replace with this....?
